Jacksonville Symphony
Faced with mounting deficits, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra needed some outside objective analysis. This project developed alternative financial and business scenarios based on extensive research concerning revenue potential - both earned and contributed - as well as an assessment of programming and operations. The project began with a frank consideration of the state of the orchestra industry and the ramifications this might have for Jacksonville. WolfBrown consultants also considered the experience of peer institutions that were comparable in size and community. At the same time, they considered the unique attributes and capacity of the local market. On-site visits allowed for the sharing of consultant expertise in marketing and development. The scenarios ultimately presented looked not only at finances, but also at how musician services might be allocated, and actions were suggested that might improve the overall financial results.
